Signed Kookaburra Kahuna Tornado cricket bat on frame, Australia V New Zealand One Day International. (Damaged)
This bat is signed by the Australian (AU) cricket team that beat New Zealand (NZ) on a one day international at Bellerive Oval in Hobart on 14 January 2007. AU scored 8/289 v NZ 184. Man of the match was Andrew Symonds. It was the second victory for AU, which gave them a strong lead in the series, which included England. Andrew Symonds top scored for AU with 69 from 70 balls with Adam Gilchrist scoring 61 from 58 balls. Unfortunately, AU lost the series to England by 2-0 playing without Symonds after he tore his bicep. Symonds was a three-in-one cricketer: devasting batsman, handy off spinner and a medium pacer. When one combines these attributes with brilliance of his fielding, his loss to the AU squad was more than it could cope with. Symonds holds the world records for the most sixes hit during his first class innings (16) and during a first class match (20), both set while playing for Gloucestershire as a 20 year old
The Australian team was: Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Michael Hussey, Craig White, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark & Ben Hilfenhaus.
